The 2008 QUERCUS Vineyard
(Gold & Silver Medals) was produced from a single, 10 year old vineyard and ‘dry grown’ with high density plantings and low yields resulting in wines with restrained silky tannins, powerful expressions of flavour, lively and bright with a seductive aroma leading to strong spicy overtones of red fruits. It also thrilled and surprised him, by changing quite dramatically in the bottle across last year, resulting in an outstanding wine. (R.R.P.$35)

The 2009 Athena’s Vineyard Chardonnay
(Silver Medal) is crisp and tightly structured, with a well defined balance between fruit - white peach and melon, with secondary characters and finely integrated spicy oak. There is extraordinary length to the palate where rich concentration is balanced by the fine acidity, producing a delicious wine. (R.R.P $35)

THE 2012 Bellvale Estate Level
John’s newest wine is the estate level Pinot Noir 2012, made with grapes from various Bellvale vineyards rather than the single ‘Quercus Vineyard’ Pinot Noir that he is well known for. John says “It has caused quite some excitement amongst our restaurant and sommelier clients, everyone’s asking how it compares to the Quercus, I say it’s a very smart, light wine, with racy acidity and a lovely long moorish palate”.
THE 2013 Bellvale Pinot Grigio
John’s first Pinot Grigio was planted in 2008, and enjoys Northern Italian grape style similarities. The 2013 is the second vintage and it enjoys a very similar subtlety, the pear, spice and apple are still apparent, and as before it has that freshness that’s all about its cool climate and southern location.
